Honesty has its own advantages and disadvantages. This is normal as in life if black exists, white must exist too in order to contrast. In some situations, it might be better to not say things and just keep it to yourself because it is going to hurt others feelings and break relations. But we all need to know that being honest to people is very important. By being honest, you are able to gain trust and respect from other people.

Honesty is one of the main factors to trust a person. It is the instrument and considered as a life hack to talk with the truth and win other’s trust. A person that has won the trust of his/her friend is a person that is honest. The society as well as your family members will feel that they could rely on you, since they know you are an honest person. Being honest will make you feel relaxed and chill as you have nothing to hide. You have no fear of something being discovered. On the other hand, when a person is not honest he/she will always worry and be extra careful with his/her words and moves.

The good thing about being honest is that you stay true to yourself and you show people who you truly are. You do not lie just because you are afraid of being judged by others. Through a religion perspective, lying is a sin. Not only that but lying could make people lose trust between each other. In fact, you are just adding more shame to your life, knowing that it will not get you anywhere and you will end up with things that you never wanted in the first place.

Lying can put you in a much complicated and deep situation as once you have lied to a person, you will tend to tell more lies in order to avoid the truth. Nobody believes in a liar and once you have lost people’s trust towards you, it's going to be hard for you to earn them back. Once lying becomes a habit for you, nobody is going to trust you. Not even your friends or lover. Lying is always wrong no matter how big or small it is. Honesty is always better than lying at all times, as it makes you a more reliable and respectable person for your family, friends and everyone you love.

You may think that nobody gets hurt when you lie, but the person you lied to gets hurt because you betrayed him/her. A lie could easily cause people to do things which tend to hurt others. Small lies will turn into big lies as you kept on lying to cover the truth. You do not want people to doubt you on anything you say or do, even though you are telling the truth. When you are not honest you are surrounded by many problems and you will not find happiness in life. We do not want to be known as liars and we do not want to be a person that lacks commitment and also trust from other people. As a human, we want a feeling of being loved too. Lying should never be an option for any one of us. Truth always comes first. So the best way to enjoy life is always telling the truth and being an honest person.
