Designing a website and making it look visually good is more than aesthetical changes. Website designing is prominently used to attract visitors, grow the company profile, etc. There are a lot of website design & development companies and UI/UX development companies out there in the market helping build an imaginary website.
Steps to designing a website:
Defining Goals/purpose
The website should have a purpose, designs should define the aesthetics of the website and it needs to build according to the website genre.
Points that need to be kept in mind while developing a website or designing one:
1. Purpose/Genre of the Website?
2. What is the main function that it is being built for?
3. Is this a customer-centric website like an eCommerce store or it's built for company appearance?
Importance/ Functioning and Scope of Website
As we proceed by defining the usage/goal of the website, the next step is the functioning and scope of the website. Defining what's more necessary and how it should be done. This is one of the most critical stages where the project needs to define. As the client has imagined a set out of goal's but this imagination gradually expands, changes during the process of designing.
The Back-hand work (Site map and wire-frames): After proceeding with the functioning and scope it's time to work on the website's back-hand section. Writing sites maps and making a structure predefined & based on the last observation. As wire-frames define a layout of how the website design will look and how it will be showcased.
Content creation
As with a brief layout and design now it's the stage of putting content over the web pages and the technical back-hand and in consideration to the optimization work and SEO aspects. The content should be bright, colourful and should impress the customer as to hold them over the site for a longer period. Short, and interesting content gets them to go through to other pages.
Visual elements
After getting the wire-frames and back-hand work done it's time to start with visual proceedings and define the architecture of the website. This stage of designing usually depends upon the client mood and imagination. Tools like style tiles and element collages can help with this process. This part of the design process is usually shaped by existing defined elements, colours & logo development, as would have been discussed by the client.
A visually good website defines the professional behaviour of the company and also defines the work ethos, customer-centric behaviour and defines the customer reaction and stimulus towards the brand.
Testing
This is the final calling stage of the website, as all the designs and appearance of the website would have been defined by now. Here the actual testing of the website is done based on the mobile-friendliness of the website and also defining if there's any broken link or not or any loader issue with the site. After getting every single page tested and defining all the rules of Seo for the website the final call of deployment is taken.
Launch
After getting all this fixed and perfectly working, it's time to deploy and execute the website! This includes launching time, defining the crawling aspects and checking if the website has been indexed with the specified changes or not.
