Parents' Perspective
Parents want their child to be good at studies and achieve high grades. Parents provide the children with the required resources they need to get a good education and finally settle in a good career. Parents leave no page unturned for their child’s educational development and always expect great results in return. These expectations sometimes exceed the limits and the child bears the consequences. Expecting your child to become a successful individual is not too much to ask for but the thing is to provide the child enough freedom to achieve success in the field they want to.
In order to get good results, parents and teachers often force the student. Forcing someone to do something is never a good idea, especially when it comes to education, one should not indulge in forceful tactics. Parents and teachers force a student to learn something he/she finds difficult leads to pressure and emotional stress. Just imagine the stress and pain you would feel if you were in a position where the people closest to you are forcing you to do something you have no interest in, you find difficult or you simply don’t want to do.
Impact Of Forcing
Forcing is never beneficial for anything. When you force a child to study, they might lose their motivation or even become rebellious towards you. Young children are impressionable and you don’t want to force things upon them because it will be harmful to them in the future. Instead of forcing the student to study, the parent or teacher should try and talk to them. Understanding what the student finds difficult or why they don’t have an interest in studying is important because only then you will be able to listen to their problems and actually help them out. If a child is creating issues while studying then there is most likely a thing bothering him or her and you should try and find out what that is instead of lashing out at them.
Consequences
Forcing students will have its consequences and they might end up feeling scared of you if they are young or rebel against you if they are older. According to data collected by the Thesis help service in Pakistan, forcing a student mostly results in a complete lack of interest in studying, and thus the child will not even want to go to school. As the pressure will increases, the amount of stress will also accelerate which will end up deteriorating their relationships with their fellow students and might also lead to decreased self-confidence.
There are people who believe that forcing students who are not paying attention to their studies will have a positive outcome are mostly wrong because the student might begin to study hard or learn but this progress would not be due to their interest in the subject but it will be due to fear and fear is never good for anything. Once the fear is established in their minds then they will never study because they will learn something new but they will study because if they don’t they might end up being scolded and humiliated and this is the reason why students don’t understand the topic and just learn it.
