How to get the forklit driving licence with Job offer?

How to get the forklit driving licence with Job offer?

What is a forklift?

The forklift  is a construction machine intended for lifting and handling work. It is generally used to raise, lower and position pallets, but also to handle bulky materials (they support payloads) in complete safety. There are electric or thermal forklifts (diesel or LPG gas). It is therefore used for handling loads (loading and unloading) ranging from 1000 to 5000 kg in general.

Forklifts can be used off the beaten track: with the all-terrain forklift also called 4x4 forklift for example. They are 2- or 4-wheel drive, with the 4-wheel drive having greater maneuverability. Various accessories are adaptable to perform different types of work.

Some industrial trucks are "lowered". Very compact, they are rather used for underground work for heights of less than 2m. They are generally only 1.80m high with the mast down and 1.40m wide, which allows them easy access to all types of places. The driver has 360 ° visibility (the boom is anchored very low).

Finally, there are large-tonnage forklifts specially designed to lift extreme loads.

Among the most rented machines, we find the 5 ton diesel or electric forklift truck, the choice is yours according to your needs.

The equipment available when renting a forklift:

Forks and Fork Extensions

Jib crane equipped with hooks which allows loads to be lifted and moved

Bucket for transporting loose materials

Handling clamps

Snow blade to evacuate the snow

Concrete Mixer Bucket to facilitate concrete preparation

How to choose the right forklift?

Here are some points to consider in order to choose the right equipment for your needs and your lifting and handling work:

The site environment: depending on the type of soil, an outdoor or indoor site, the model will be different. Prefer an all-terrain truck on difficult to access terrain. For industrial work, an electric forklift is preferred.

The load to be handled: What is the maximum load you have to lift? What is the width of the load? This information is essential! In fact, the spacing of the forks is generally around 1m, if your load is too large, the machine will have to be fitted with fork extensions.

The working height: At what maximum height should you move the load? Are there height constraints to be respected? Knowing that manual forklifts have a height limit, if the material handling work requires a large lifting capacity, it might be more advantageous to opt for a telehandler.

The choice of fuel type: LPG gas, diesel or electric. Electric forklifts are quieter and do not pollute the ambient air: they are recommended for confined spaces. Gas and diesel elevators are generally faster and have better capacities: They are recommended for outdoor work.

Also, it is essential to check the CACES permit corresponding to the chosen machine. However, you can opt for a stacker if the load to be moved and lifted is small and needs to be done quickly.

What work can be done with a Forklift?

Thanks to the forklift rental, you will be able to carry out different types of missions such as transporting pallets, handling loads, working in a warehouse, loading and unloading trucks, etc. As with all our machines, the front forklift is available for hire with or without a driver (forklift operator) with different loading capacities.

Note: When using a forklift, it is important to follow a few safety rules. In France, more than 9,000 accidents, 500 serious injuries and 10 deaths are reported per year. Thus, to ensure the smooth running of your work, it is necessary to follow some instructions. Among these, the obligation to have a driver's license, to wear personal protective equipment (gloves, safety vest, safety shoes, etc.), to respect speed limits, to check the lift truck on a daily basis. or not to exceed the load capacity.

How to drive a forklift?

Before renting a  forklift, it is important to know how to handle this lifting and handling device. Thus, before using the machine, the personnel must be trained to operate. Once you have checked your working environment and the machine, you can now start to operate the Forklift. First of all, if you want to hoist a pallet, it is important to lift it vertically so that it is no longer touching the ground, and then tilt it back. The forks must be high enough to enter the pallet. Be sure to perform this movement delicately. You should also make sure that the forks are fully under the load and that they support a minimum of two-thirds of its length.

When traveling, we strongly recommend that you keep the forks as low as possible, without touching the floor, to avoid offset when cornering and increase the operator's visibility. At the same time, remember to slow down at intersections and blind spots (honk if necessary), to keep a safe distance between the lift truck and overhead power lines and not to turn the steering wheel sharply when you are driving.

To drive optimally, it is essential to maneuver the Forklift using the rear wheels since the load is positioned on the front wheels. Finally, when you want to put down the goods, lower the fork as low as possible to put the load on the ground and back up slowly. Then all you have to do is park the forklift and apply the parking brake.
