Kedarnath Dham is one of the four dhams of Hindus which is surrounded by beautiful plains of nature. Though Kedarnath Dham is a very holy place of faith, the beauty of its surroundings also does not hold back from attracting more tourists.
The serene atmosphere here is revered by devotees and natural beauty immersed in the love of God is nothing short of a miracle. Here you can see the beautiful art style of the temple, the faiths of the devotees, the ruined snow on the mountains, the strong wind gusts in the beautiful valley, the strong flow of the Mandakini river, the water noise of tomorrow, etc.
There is a lake at some distance here which is worth visiting, this lake also has its own separate significance. About 6 kilometres from here, there is also a pool, which is known as Vasuki Tal. In Kedarnath Dham you can see the sights of Trijuginarayan, Agastayamuni, Gauri Kund, Son Prayag, Guptkashi, Ukhimath, Panch Kedar etc.
Kedarnath Temple
Kedarnath temple is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This temple is set in the lap of the Himalayan Mountains. Kedarnath is the highest place among the twelve Jyotirlingas and one of the Panch Kedar. This temple was built by the Janmejaya of the Pandava dynasty. Adi Shankaracharya had this temple renovated. This temple is built in Katyuri style in stone.
Shankaracharya Samadhi
Shankaracharya is said to have taken Samadhi here at the age of 32. In the 8th century, Guruji Shankaracharya visited the Kedarnath temple. He had taken samadhi here after seeing this temple, Shankaracharya Samadhi is worth visiting.
Triyuginarayana
Triyugi Narayan Temple is located in the Rudraprayag district of Uttarakhand. This temple of Lord Vishnu and Goddess Lakshmi and is also the marriage place of Shiva Parvati. This temple is built in Kedarnath style and is a must-visit.
Guptkashi
The ancient Shiva-Parvati temple is established in Guptkashi which is worth visiting. Every year a large crowd of devotees throng here to catch a glimpse of Lord Shiva and Mother Parvati.
Oukhi Math
Oukhi Math is a beautiful place with a very calm atmosphere. It is said that when the Kedarnath temple is closed during the winter season, its idol is placed on the throne of Oukhi Math.
Gauri Kund
Gauri Kund is famous among tourists for its miraculous effect. The main attraction over here is the hot water spring located amidst the freezing climate. There is a famous temple of Mata Parvati which is built in an artistic style.
Chowkhati Tal
Chowkhati Tal is also known as Gandhi Tal. It is said that the ashes of Mahatma Gandhi were carried here. Along with this icy lake, Shankaracharya's tomb is also worth seeing.
Deoria Tal
Deoria Tal is very popular among tourists for its beauty. The snow-clad peaks here look very breathtaking. It is a great trekking location and every year a number of people embark upon this beautiful journey to the Deoria Tal Chopta Chandrashila Trek.
Panch Kedar
Panch Kedar is one of the major scenic spots of Kedarnath. The pleasing beauty of the place compels tourists to come here.
Vasuki Tal
Vasuki Tal will be about 6 kilometres from Kedarnath Dham. It is a very attractive lake. This lake is quite at a height, so a lot of climbing has to be done to reach it. It is also a popular trekking location like the Deoria Tal.
How to reach Kedarnath?
You need to make a 250 km journey from Haridwar to Gauri Kund to reach Kedarnath Dham can be completed by bus or private taxi. Then you have to travel 14 km from Gauri Kund to Kedarnath on foot.
Where to Stay in Kedarnath?
There is a proper arrangement of both Hotel and Dharamshala (Ashram) for a stay in Kedarnath where tourists can stay easily. Some hotels of Kedarnath are Tourist accommodation, Public Works Department Guest House etc. Dharamshala - Kali Kamali Dharamshala, Gujarat Bhawan, Birla Bhawan etc.
