Interactive Teaching Activities For Kindergarten Students

1. Think, Discuss, Respond

This activity is aimed at inculcating interpersonal skills in the kids. The teacher will ask a funny or generic question to the whole class and ask the children to think of the answer. Rather than coming up with the answer individually, the teacher will ask the kids to form a group of 3 or 4 students each. They will be directed to discuss the answers and reach upon an amicable solution or the answer of the major section from the group.

After the allocated time, the teacher will enquire each group to reveal the answer they have come up with. After arranging all the answers on the board, the student will be asked to discuss the answers and come up with the most suitable one. The teachers will be giving entertaining and simple questions that could be easily understood by the kids.

2. Lego Blocks Game

The kids will be provided with a bundle of Lego blocks. They will be asked to form groups and collect the blocks of similar shape or colour. Subsequently, making them count the total number of shapes and colour etcetera. Of course, each student has different skill compared to the other one. Some will be good at Maths and some in Science. The kids will be asked to support each other to solve the puzzle. Thus enhancing the capabilities, as well as, mutual understanding and bondage. 3. Exit Tickets for Each Kid

This interactive activity is played at the end of classes. Each kid will be asked to write down the answer to a particular question, such as what did you learn today? The teacher will collect the answer slips, and allow the kid to go. The kid who is unable to come up with an answer would be helped and motivated by the teacher to bring out the best in him or her. 4. Share the Knowledge

After a session, the teacher asks the students to form pairs. Each student will share the knowledge gained with his or her partner. Then put down all the points on paper. The whole class will be asked to share the points one by one subsequently. This activity helps the student to revise the topic and ensures that every student understands the concept taught in the class.

5. Friendly Debates

The teacher will divide the whole class into two groups and give them a common topic. One side of the class will be asked to debate in favour of the subject and the other side against it. The teacher will compare the debate by guiding them about the points and the right way to discuss a particular topic to reach the most acceptable opinion. Understanding the aspect of debate and group discussion since childhood will help the kids to perform well even after they turn adults.
