Copyright

Copyright applies to the intellectual property owner's civil privilege. Copyright is the right to reuse in simplified language. This means the original authors and those they allow are the only people to replicate the work exclusively.

The law on copyrights allows authors to use the original content exclusively to use it for a certain duration and then becomes the public domain of the protected object.

When anyone creates a commodity, which is seen as original and requires considerable mental effort, it is an intellectual property and should be secured from illegal reproduction.

Examples of unique works include apps for electronic purposes, sculpture, poetry, graphic designers, musical lyrics and arrangements, books, films, original design, material on the internet etc. One way of safeguarding an original work legitimately is copyright.

Patent

A patent is to allow a sovereign body to award an inventor a right of land. In return for a full disclosure of the invention, this grant provides the inventor with exclusive access to the copyrighted method, concept or invention for a certain time. It is an intangible privilege.

Trademark

The word trademark refers to a distinctive insignia, sentence, word or emblem, indicating a commodity and distinguishing it lawfully from all other goods of its kind. A logo just acknowledges that a commodity is owned by a certain corporation and the company owns the mark. Trademarks are usually regarded as intellectual property in Dubai that may be licensed or not.

Trade marks not only contribute to distinguishing brands from customers across the legal and market processes. The terminology and design features identifying the origins, owners, or developers of a product/service are used to define and secure them. They can be business signs, slogans, bands or a product brand name. Like a trademark, the service mark specifies the origins of a service instead of the product and uses the name trademark for logos and service marks.

Trade Secret

Any activity or procedure that is not usually understood outside the enterprise is a trade secret. The information regarded as a business secret confers a strategic edge on the enterprise over its rivals, also resulting in internal R&D.

Trade secrets may be used as a means to build an organization which offers advantages over competition or offers consumer value in various ways such as an own-owned process, tool, pattern, design, formulation, procedure, system, or practice which is unclear to others.
